Bybit Not Working in the EU?
Global vs Bybit EU, Explained

Login blocked, features missing, or a notice about your region? You are caught in Bybit’s split between its global platform and its licensed EU entity. Here is which account you need and how to move.

Short answer: Since the MiCA transition, EEA residents belong on Bybit EU (bybit.eu, run by Bybit EU GmbH under an Austrian FMA licence) — not on the global bybit.com platform, which stopped onboarding EEA users in July 2025 and has been winding down EEA access since 1 July 2026. If the global platform restricts you, that is the platform working as announced, not an account problem. Existing balances stay accessible so you can close positions and withdraw. The fix: open a Bybit EU account and move over.

Moving to Bybit EU, Step by Step

Register on bybit.eu — it is a separate entity with separate accounts; your global login does not carry over. Referral code PCNVIP is documented in our Bybit guide (affiliate link, disclosed below).
Complete KYC with your EU documents. You are onboarded to Bybit EU GmbH, the Austrian MiCAR-licensed entity on the ESMA register.
Close or reduce positions on the global platform. Bybit has said affected users keep access to balances specifically to manage open positions — do not count on that window staying open indefinitely; act before restrictions reach your account tier.
Withdraw from global, deposit to EU. Crypto withdrawals to your Bybit EU deposit addresses work like any exchange-to-exchange transfer — match the network exactly and send a small test amount first for large balances. SEPA deposits on Bybit EU carry no fee.
Check what changed in the product range. The EU entity operates under MiCAR permissions; some products differ from the global platform. Compare costs for how you actually trade with our fee calculator.

FAQ

Why is Bybit blocking me in the EU?
It is not a malfunction. The global bybit.com platform is winding down EEA access under MiCA, as Bybit announced, and directs EEA residents to Bybit EU GmbH, its separately licensed Austrian entity. Existing users keep access to balances to close positions and withdraw.
Do I lose my funds on the global platform?
Bybit states that affected EEA users retain access to their account balances specifically to manage and close open positions rather than losing access outright. Verify the current terms in your own account notices, and do not leave the migration to the last minute.
Can I transfer my account history and VIP level to Bybit EU?
The entities are separate, and accounts are opened fresh on bybit.eu with EU KYC. Bybit ran migration incentives for movers in 2026; what carries over beyond your assets depends on Bybit’s current terms – check the official migration notice in your account.
Is Bybit EU actually licensed?
Yes. Bybit EU GmbH was authorised by Austria’s FMA in May 2025 under MiCAR and appears on the public ESMA register, covering the EEA except Malta. We track its status on our MiCA licence tracker.
