Fastest WordPress Hosting in 2026

This page publishes no speed test and quotes none. It compares what each host publishes about the infrastructure behind speed: whether the entry plan shares a machine, which caches sit in front of WordPress, whether a CDN is included, which PHP versions you can choose and how many locations are on offer. Six hosts, their own pages, read on 22 September 2026.

Why a fastest WordPress hosting page without a benchmark

One synthetic test tells you very little. It loads one install, usually empty, from one city, at one moment, with the cache warm or cold. Your site has a theme, twenty plugins, images, logged-in users and visitors in another country. A host that wins such a test can lose on your site for reasons the test never touched.

Price, renewal, support and refunds for the same six hosts are compared on best WordPress hosting; this page covers only the published hardware, caching and locations. Two of the six hosts publish speed comparisons on their sales pages; those are the seller’s measurements and are not reproduced here, nor is any third-party score.

What this infrastructure means for your own site

Location is the free lever. A data centre near most of your visitors shortens every uncached request. SiteGround, WP Engine, Cloudways and Bluehost let you choose, Hostinger does at setup; Kinsta names 30 data centres but not how you pick one.

An edge or full-page cache serves visitors who are not logged in. Kinsta’s edge caching, WP Engine’s Edge Full Page Cache and a Cloudflare CDN hand finished HTML to anonymous visitors without touching the server. Logged-in users, carts and checkouts bypass that layer; there the machine and the object cache decide, which is why Cloudways gives Redis away and Kinsta charges 100 USD a month for it. On a shared plan another customer’s spike can slow you; a rented server or isolated resources remove that at a higher price. Only Cloudways states which PHP versions you can pick; that matters for plugin compatibility first.

Verdict on infrastructure, not on milliseconds

Own resources at the entry price: Cloudways. No other host here sells a server of your own for 11 USD (1 GB); WP Engine says Essential is shared, and Kinsta describes an isolated container per site but states no CPU or memory for Single 35k. CDN and edge caching included: Kinsta’s plan page is the most specific, with PoP count, edge caching and Cloudflare integration in the price; WP Engine, SiteGround, Bluehost and Hostinger also include a CDN, Cloudways sells it. Locations and PHP transparency: Cloudways and SiteGround publish a location list, Cloudways a PHP range, Kinsta a count of 30 data centres; the other three offer a phrase. Server-level caching: Cloudways lists the most in the price.

Our pick, with the interest disclosed. On the infrastructure criteria of this page, Cloudways leads (own server resources, published PHP range and location list), if you are willing to run the server. Kinsta (affiliate, disclosed) leads on included CDN and edge caching and is our pick only if you want those managed in one list price of 35 USD a month or 350 USD a year.

Fastest WordPress hosting in 2026: common questions

Why does this page not publish speed tests?
A single synthetic test of one install from one location does not transfer to a site with its own theme, plugins, images and audience, and this site has no test rig that would make such a number honest. It compares the infrastructure each host publishes instead.
Does Kinsta’s entry plan run on shared or dedicated resources?
Kinsta’s WordPress hosting page says each site runs in its own isolated container, but gives no CPU or memory for Single 35k; dedicated servers are an upgrade from 300 USD a month. WP Engine labels Essential “shared resources” and Core “isolated”; Cloudways gives every customer a server of their own from 11 USD a month.
Which hosts let me choose the data centre?
SiteGround names 11 data centres and lets you change location in the client area. WP Engine lets you select one without publishing a count. Cloudways lists locations per cloud provider. Bluehost offers a US data centre at checkout; Hostinger lets you choose at setup. Kinsta states 30 global data centres, without a list.
Which hosts include a CDN on the entry plan?
Kinsta (260+ PoPs with edge caching), WP Engine (Cloudflare-powered global CDN), SiteGround (free CDN, 170+ locations), Bluehost (free CDN) and Hostinger (listed on Premium). Cloudways lists Cloudflare Enterprise as a paid add-on on Flexible, without a price on its pricing page, and includes it only on Autonomous.
Which PHP versions can I run on each host?
Cloudways states 7.4 to 8.2, chosen per application. SiteGround, Bluehost and Hostinger list “PHP version control” without naming versions; Bluehost mentions PHP 8. WP Engine updates PHP automatically. Kinsta’s plan page lists no versions, only a paid option for extra PHP threads.
