TradingView vs StockCharts in 2026: Indicators, Alerts, Replay and Price Compared
StockCharts Basic costs 19.95 USD a month for 25 indicators per chart, but only 2 price alerts, and no replay or back-tester is listed. TradingView Essential costs 12.95 USD a month billed annually for 5 indicators and 20 price alerts; Plus, at 29.95, gives 10 indicators, 100 alerts and a year of minute-level replay. How TradingView vs StockCharts was compared
The two platforms were checked on eight criteria: plans and prices, free tier, trial, refunds, indicators and alerts, scripting and back-testing, replay, and trading from the chart with market data. Every figure comes from TradingView’s pricing, policies and partner pages and from StockCharts’ “Service Levels, Data Plans and Pricing” and features pages, all read on 23 September 2026. Nothing was measured; where a page does not list a feature, the table says so.
StockCharts sells three service levels with the same indicator allowance and different capacities; TradingView sells four plans whose indicator allowance rises with the price. Day trading, especially with leverage, carries a high risk of loss.

Verdict: TradingView for alerts, scripting and replay, StockCharts for indicators per dollar
StockCharts wins on indicators per dollar: 25 per chart from 19.95 USD a month, where TradingView needs Premium at 59.95 for the same number. It also offers charting history from 1980, or 1900 on Pro, and a free month that starts at the Extra level. If you chart US, Canadian, UK or Indian stocks on daily data, read many studies at once and need few alerts, StockCharts Basic at 19.95 USD a month is the cheaper tool against TradingView Premium at 59.95; use the free month to decide, because paid months are not refunded.
